Case Study: Village Hotel, Swansea – AV System Upgrade and Repairs
We recently upgraded and repaired aspects of the Audio-Visual (AV) system at the Village Hotel, Swansea.
The team provided a fast, efficient service to undertake the following:
New AV Cabinet
The Elite Group engineers installed a new AV cabinet that included extra fans to ensure proper ventilation, preventing overheating of the equipment.
New Wattbox 8 Port Voltage Conditioning Unit
This device protects the electrical circuits from voltage spikes and allows for remote monitoring and control of the connected devices.
New Cat6a Field Connections:
The RJ45 connectors, which are used for Ethernet connections, were upgraded to Cat6a field connections, which significantly improves the quality and reliability of the network cabling.
Replaced Faulty HDMI Distribution System
The existing HDMI distribution system was faulty, so we replaced it with
two Bluestream 4K HDMI over Cat6 systems. These systems distribute 4K HDMI signals over Cat6 cables to multiple televisions, ensuring high-quality video transmission.
Replaced Faulty DSP digital signal processor supplying 3 x audio amps:
The digital signal processor (DSP) is responsible for processing audio signals, and in this case, it was identified as being faulty, causing issues with 3 audio amplifiers. A new one was installed and solved the problem immediately.
Repaired Fault on Zone Mixer.
A fault was identified in the zone mixer, which is used to manage audio output to different areas (zones). We used a spare zone on the mixer to fix the issue of distorted audio being sent to external speakers, thus fixing the problem.
